A treasure of pleasure. Like bingeing on the Ramones. Short, fast, based on a few chord progressions, they all blur into one endless song. With all the out-takes and even a few officially released tracks that Charlie later regretted, this release feels a little bit like a bootleg or a field recording.
But it has shining moments as well and even the dim ones are important historical documents. When Parker is on, no-one can touch him. This is Jazz Classical music had its Beethoven and Mozart Few people other than Ross Russell gave a good cahoot about the Bird It wouldn't be until 10 years later --that a larger label would get around to recording Parker, and by then the bebop era was pretty much over Oh, and there's something even more amazing: We're going back well over 50 years ago I'm really serious Its one thing to be edgy in your own time Furthermore though almost 90 tracks were collected for the production including excerpts of a recording made at a private house party all the recordings were made in the span of only a year and a half Mar 28, and Dec 17, - - talk about being creatively vibrant and revolutionary Embraceable You - Charlie Parker - Charlie Parker On Dial Volume 4 (Vinyl going any further, let me just list some of the personnel and then make a final statement This is the real deal - - get it!
