Cherish - Madonna - Blond Over Japan (CD, Album) download full album zip cd mp3 vinyl flac
This album reveals a maturity of expression in pop music that takes away the bitter perception of Pop music as being lame without substance. Madonna once again collaborated with her 'True Blue' read my review on that album teamPatrick Leonard and Stephen Bray to create yet another masterpiece. Like a Prayer: This probably is one of Madonna's most memorable songs of her career next to Voguedefinetely her most powerful, not much credit was given to her for her vocal performance on this memoriable track that was a 1 throughout the world, even in Zimbabwe where I was staying at the time.
Every body memorised the words. The song is brilliant I love the way it slowly builds Album) into an explosive ending with the choir, the video, even though played today would not have raised such a storm, was brilliant and cleverly thought out. Indeed a memoriable track by the Queen herself. A great track. Its a good track if you looking for something different, quite experimental there is a break down in the song that says 'time goes by so slowly for those who wait', reminiscent of Madonna 1 'Hung Up' smash hit.
An okay song but probably the weakest on the album. Love the instrumentation, her vocals, a very mature piece of Pop. Absolutely love it. A touching beautifully sung song, which features in 'In Bed with Madonna' documentary as she visits her mothers grave.
A true gem to this amazing album. Nevertheless even then Madonna knew the importance of having a tight family unit. Great performance of this track on her "Blonde Ambition Tour Finale". Love this track. Act of Contriction closing Interlude : A rather wierd ending to the album, but fits in perfectly, Like a Prayer choral section is played backwards which in those days was very controversial, some even saying satanicbut of course Madonna takes that away and puts a touch of humour on it.
It seems she waiting to at the gate of heaven, but doesn't have a reservation, the album ends with her screeching, 'what do you mean I am not in the computer' ha ha ha only Madonna. Listen if you are a Madonna fan you probably have this album, but if you love pop and are a child of the 90's get this album and hear what mature, entertaining Pop music is all about, forget about Britney, Hanna Montanna and all the other wannabes, Madonna is the sure deal. Before 's 'Like a Prayer', many felt that Madonna would dissapear like the other flash-in the pan pop tarts of the flourishing MTV age.
Sure she was a trendsetter and she had some hits okay, a lot of hitsbut did she have anything to say? Up until this album she had been dubbed a singles artist. While Album) 'True Blue' took a mature step in social commentary, primarily in "Papa Don't Preach", the album didn't stray too far from her earlier, effortless "let's just party" agenda.
With pretty much every Madonna album, controversy is included. The stellar first single and title track infuriated the world with it's video, which showed Madonna dancing in her underwear in church and in front of burning crosses, depicting stigmata in her hands, and kissing a statue of a black saint that comes to life.
Setting off a tradition that will stretch right on up to 's "American Life" video, it is her clips that often get the attention. In the case of "Like a Prayer", however, the song with it's confessions of lust and faith and orgasmic, soaring choir, holds it's own and forced everyone back then to ignore any mixed messages the video may have given.
It's become and should remain the blueprint for many Madonna songs to come. The album is the same way. It twists in both consistency and surprise, first offering a female empowerment anthem, "Express Yourself" and a song about a turbulent, violent relationship, "Til Death Do Us Part", to a giddy valentine packed with pop rocks and sweet tarts, "Cherish", and reflections on the death of her mother, "Promise to Try".
What makes the album so amazing may be it's humanization of Madonna, who has been seen by most as an untouchable diva. Here, she seems warm, inviting, and ready to talk to God.
God is undoubtedly one of the men she confronts on "Oh Father". On an album built around faith and strength, her relationship with a higher power feels strained. She is hurt by male influences on "Oh Father", contemplates if there is a God on "Spanish Eyes", and gets Album) a tizzy on judgement day in the welcomed quirkiness of "Act of Contrition" for more quirkiness look to "Dear Jesse", an acid trip lullabyewhen her name is nowhere to be found on the list.
While 'Like a Prayer' is built around her feelings about religion, it also hits home. Where she tackles domestic violence, death, and the uncertainty of love on the beginning of the record, she struggles to find her place in the family order on the funky "Keep it Together".
It's a song that speaks volumes about not only Madonna's family frustration, but her place in the world. It's a fitting position for a star whose career has mostly centered around fashion statements, shock, and carefully coreographed videos.
It's a bold step in a career meant to take risks, experiment, and celebrate self expression. I hesitated to buy this vinyl because of some bad review. But I am glad I did. The mastering might not be revolutionary, but it's better than most of the newer album I own. This is my favorite album of Madonna.
And it needs to be in your collection if you are fan. One person found this helpful. I've always appreciated Madonna for the Album) her music stimulated my imagination, not unlike the chaos of some of her later disco-like songs, but Oh Father with its film noir-style video and Like A Prayer with its controversial religious symbolism on this CD are two of best examples of what her music career was about.
You don't need to be a Madonna's fan to enjoy this from the beginning to end because it's so eclectic, with strong lyrics and great sounds that any person who enjoys good quality music will find this a must have.
IMHO, this is a great album. Even if you're not a big Madonna fan, give this album a try. The album arrived on time and in perfect condition. This album is the album that made Madonna an official sex symbol, as well as really directing her to her way of becoming a huge icon. This album has been chosen as a favorite amongst many of her adoring fans across the world. I am one of those fans, who heavily favors this amazing album. What an awesome song. Madonna had, once again, found herself surrounded by the pointing fingers of her critics, due to the song's controversial music video.
If you ask me, no matter how controversial the video was and is, this song and video are just way too awesome. This song shot straight up to the 2 spot Billboard Hot and also became a anthem for many women, in being able to stand up to their men.
The video version of the song is much different than this here album version. The video version is a completely remixed version. But, I really enjoy this song, because I recently became a fan of Prince.
I love it The song describes Madonna telling the little girl inside herself that she has to move on, where Madonna, herself, explains that it's difficult to let go, but she promises to try.
This is a beautiful and touching ballad. What a great song. I could listen to this song all day. What a great fantasy-esque song. The song is about how Madonna's father had became after Madonna's mother had passed away, Cherish - Madonna - Blond Over Japan (CD, due to breast cancer. In the video, Madonna shows exactly what the song is about, as well as showing what her marriage was like to Sean Penn. Personally, I think this is a beautiful song, and one of Madonna's best.
What a great song about remembering who your family is and where you truly came from. This album is just incredibly outstanding. Madonna has so many remix edits, maxi versions, etc. What would something like this fetch on the market today? Thanks, Jake. The box is the condition that I bought it — slight wear on the black and the corners are a little bent.
